Accessibility, SAS Applications, and Java

In order for assistive technologies that run in Windows to interoperate with a SAS application that is based on Java technology,  you must install the Java Access Bridge from Oracle.

Note: The following steps assume that the Java Runtime Environment (JRE)  is already installed on your machine.

  1. Download and install the Java Access Bridge. SAS applications require Java Access Bridge 2.0.2 or later.
  2. Install your SAS applications.
  3. For each application, edit the sas.java.ext.config file, which is located in the application directory that contains the extensions for your JRE. Add these two Java Access Bridge jars if they are not already in the directory: access-bridge.jar and jaccess.jar
  4. A system restart might be required.

If you have questions or concerns about the accessibility of SAS products, send e-mail to accessibility@sas.com.
