SAS® Student Ambassador Program

Earn the opportunity to present your project at SAS Global Forum 2009

Overview
The SAS Student Ambassador Program is a competitive program that recognizes and supports students who use SAS technologies in innovative ways that benefit their respective industries and fields of study. Select students will be named SAS Student Ambassabors and earn the opportunity to present their research at the 2009 SAS Global Forum in National Harbor, Maryland on March 22-25.

What are benefits of being a SAS® Student Ambassador?

Am I eligible for the SAS® Student Ambassador Program?
Graduate and undergraduate students are eligible to apply to this program. Recent graduates also may be eligible to apply. The submitted project must have been conducted by the student within 12 months of the submission deadline. In addition, all applicants must have a strong command of the English language. Applicants will be required to submit papers, present projects and participate in question-and-answer sessions in English.

What is the application process for the SAS® Student Ambassador Program?

The application process consists of two parts:

After completing the application process, SAS Global Forum leaders indicate which papers merit acceptance for presentation. Next, the SAS Student Ambassador Program assesses the eligible papers and notifies the winners.

What are the requirements for my submission?
An applicant’s submission must meet the same requirements established for all presenters by SAS Global Forum. All submissions will be judged by the SAS Global Forum conference leaders and by the SAS Student Ambassador Program team.

What types of projects are appropriate?
For a complete listing of conference sections and a description of the types of papers that are appropriate for each specific section, please visit the Conference Sections page of the SAS Global Forum Web site. Appropriate projects will come from numerous areas of study. Examples of conference sections include:

  • Applications Development
  • Coders' Corner
  • Data Mining and Predictive Modeling
  • Data Presentation
  • Data Warehousing, Management and Quality
  • Statistics and Data Analysis

Information on past winners and links to their papers can be found here. (PDF: 234KB) The winners represent a variety of disciplines, conference sections and geographic regions. They all showcase how to use SAS or apply SAS to real-world scenarios.
