Telecommunications industry: Data miner for analytical CRM

Job description and responsibilities

You will work with the Analytical CRM Team, which is part of Sales and Marketing at a telecommunications company. The department brings together the company’s CRM expertise, and the job is, therefore, in a dynamic, varied area of business. It will provide you with a good opportunity to develop yourself and your career. We work at a high speed and have lots to do. As a result, you will bear considerable responsibility and face plenty of challenges.

You will play a key role in the company’s activities with regard to CRM and customer loyalty. These activities will be based on your analyses, which you will create primarily using SAS products. In addition, you will assist the Marketing Department in defining requirements for campaigns, including preparing reports, data validation, response handling, processing of campaign results, data import and export. Ultimately, you are the department's requester of and super-user of the company’s CRM systems.

Required background and skills set

You have a good knowledge of IT, of course, but you believe that IT is a tool to support your understanding of business. You are more driven by your enthusiasm to produce results for the organization than by your love of working with IT.

In addition, you have:

  • Good communication skills.
  • A willingness to work with others.
  • The ability to take responsibility for your own work.
  • A bachelor’s degree in commerce, business, economics or political science.
  • Experience in data mining and database marketing, including the use of SAS products.

Research field: Practical statistician

Job description and responsibilities

We are looking for a statistician for our statistics and analysis department to develop tools and statistics from electricity consumption data for power supply planners, energy consultants and public authorities.

Our areas of expertise include the development of statistical tools and models, the forecasting of electricity consumption, the build-up of electricity consumption databases and the design of market analyses.

The main emphasis will be on the development of new forecasting methods and new descriptive models of electricity consumption in the commercial and housing sectors, improvement of existing models, calculation of sample sizes, identification of unique characteristics and development and calculation of key figures. We work in close cooperation with the company's other departments, as well as experts from the electricity sector and public authorities. Depending on your profile and your interests, the job could also involve some data management, including the preparation of data, development of data warehouses and the design and programming of standard reports.

Required background and skills set

You have:

  • A bachelor’s degree in commerce, business, economics or engineering, with a specialization in statistics.
  • Experience with statistical tools, especially SAS.
  • The ability to work in an analytical, structured way.
  • The skills to document your work and results.
  • Communication skills to work with a large number of internal and external contacts.

Business intelligence specialist

Job description and responsibilities

Business intelligence (BI) in this company is synonymous with knowledge of the business, our key processes and, not least, our customers. BI's main task is to convert the vast quantities of data gathered into usable information that can form the basis of everyday commercial decisions. You will assist our BI programmer in working on the establishment of a supple, flexible reporting and analysis environment. Your tasks will be:

As a minimum, you must have a bachelor's degree, preferably in computer science, economics, statistics or political science, but you should also preferably have completed, or be close to completing, your graduate degree.

We work with SAS as our only tool, and so it is essential that you:

  • Are familiar with SAS software, including Base SAS and SAS/STAT.
  • Have an analytical mind and are numerate.
  • Combine the above characteristics with an understanding of the business side of the company.

High tech industry: SAS IT consultant for BI and CRM

Job description and responsibilities

There are 16 people in the department, which is a part of Corporate IT in the company. The department provides application development and support within the main areas of data warehousing, CRM, Web development and knowledge systems. In concrete terms, the department is responsible for the development of the company’s business intelligence, Web-based dealer portal and intranet. The department's clients are both internal employees throughout the company and external cooperation partners, such as dealers and suppliers.

We are looking for a person who can form part of the group developing our SAS solutions, with a special focus on the area of economics. The group currently consists of five people, each of whom covers various specialist areas: economics, logistics, quality and purchasing. Because of an increase in activity, we are looking for a new colleague for the economics area in which the primary tasks are the development of reporting tools for traditional economic disciplines, such as decision-making support, controlling and sales follow-ups. Your primary task will be to develop and maintain the above tools. You will work in a friendly, cooperative atmosphere in the SAS group, in close collaboration with the company’s central economics division.

Required background and skills set

We are looking for a person with good IT skills and, preferably, experience in development using SAS data warehouse products. You should be customer-oriented with a good understanding of business within the field of economics. You may, therefore, have experience from a similar job and relevant higher education in economics, business, etc. A good knowledge of English is also a requirement. You should be able to thrive in a job with a high level of activity and be good at prioritizing and structuring your work. You should be prepared to work with a mixture of IT projects, operational and support tasks, and IT programming.

Job description and responsibilities

Our division of the bank is responsible for producing information to support the sales and marketing of the bank's commercial products and for developing systems for management information in close cooperation with the bank's business specialists. We mainly use SAS for ad hoc analyses and for the development of finished user applications. The user also has access to the developed systems and analyses via Web technology on the bank's own intranet. We are now seeking a new colleague who can become a system developer and carry out business-oriented analytical work. You will receive a solid training in SAS programming, internally and externally, and will be able to build a broad base of experience in a large organization with a wide range of career opportunities.

Required background and skills set

You should have:

  • Nearly or recently completed a higher education course in economics, possibly combined with data processing/computer science.
  • A good grasp of general economic concepts.
  • An interest in IT, familiarity with the most commonly used PC programs and a little knowledge of HTML.
