Jim Goodnight

In 2007, the company’s revenue was $2.1 billion, its 32nd consecutive year of growth and profitability. In 2004, Harvard Business School named him as one of the "20th Century’s Great American Business Leaders," citing his impact on "the way people have lived, worked and interacted in the 20th century." Jim has a PhD in statistics and speaks internationally on leadership, education and innovation.

Don Cooper-WilliamsFor the past six years, Don Cooper-Williams has been instrumental in leading the success of SAS’ fastest-growing region through strategic global alignment, driving new channels, building a culture of performance and developing talent across 14 diverse countries in Asia Pacific.

His tenacity to create relevance and sustain growth in emerging as well as mature markets has meant SAS continues to outpace the market in business analytics revenue. Backing his stellar achievements is more than 30 years of experience in the IT industry, providing hardware and software solutions to enterprises across South Africa, Italy and the Asia Pacific region.

Prior to joining SAS, Don held various leadership positions with 3Com Asia Pacific, Olivetti, Digital Equipment and SAP. Notably, he was responsible for the success of the Alpha 64-bit introduction into the region and was instrumental in the growth of SAP in Australia and New Zealand during the 1990s. Don resides in Sydney, Australia and travels rigorously around the world managing teams to keep ahead of the fast-evolving industry. His personal philosophy is to “change mindsets through influence” and he advocates that performance management is more than performance monitoring.

Sally Crockett

Sally Crockett leads the Consumer and Business CRM team at Vodafone Australia, with accountability for defining customer contact strategy as well as campaign ‘go to market’ for all direct customer marketing. The scope of the role includes customer retention, revenue growth and customer investment. Since joining Vodafone in 2005, Crockett also has led the Market Research and Segmentation team.

Prior to joining Vodafone, Crockett worked as a market research consultant specialising in service-related industries such as telecommunications and finance. She holds a B.A in Psychology (Hons) from Newcastle University.

Thomas H. Davenport Thomas H. Davenport is the President's Distinguished Professor of Information Technology and Management at Babson College and co-directs research for the Business Analytics research program at the BSG Alliance. He is the former director of research centers at Accenture, Ernst & Young, and McKinsey.

Davenport is the author or co-author of 12 books, including the bestsellers Working Knowledge: How Organizations Manage What They Know and Process Innovation: Reengineering Work Through Information Technology. His latest book, Competing on Analytics: The New Science of Winning, has become a best-seller and is being translated into 10 languages. He is also a frequent contributor to Harvard Business Review and other leading journals. His recent article “Competing on Analytics” was Harvard Business Review’s most requested article reprint of 2006.

Davenport holds a PhD from Harvard University in organizational behavior and has taught at Harvard Business School, Dartmouth's Tuck School of Business and the University of Texas at Austin.

Guggenheimer has held numerous roles in the fields of database marketing and operations & technology, including positions with Cendant as Senior Vice President of Database Marketing and Analysis; and with Media Metrix as Senior Vice President of Operations and Technology. Since joining Citigroup in 1998, Guggenheimer has held senior management positions in both the corporate and consumer sectors of the organisation.

Guggenheimer holds a Bachelor of Science degree in biochemistry from SUNY Binghamton and a PhD in molecular biology from Albert Einstein College of Medicine.

Pawan Kumar has 17 years of experience in the IT arena, including more than 12 years in data warehousing and business intelligence. Gerard Lyons, PhD

Gerard Lyons Gerard Lyons is an expert on the world economy, international financial system, macroeconomic policy and global markets in his role as Chief Economist and Group Head of Global Research at Standard Chartered. Lyons has 20 years of experience in senior roles with some of the world's leading financial institutions and as a highly regarded city and international economist with an excellent forecasting record. Prior to joining Deloitte, Roy was Managing Director of another Big 4 firm, where he pioneered the IT services business and grew it to more than 1,000 people before the consulting practice was divested to IBM.

Roy is a chartered accountant with a master’s degree in advanced accounting and a graduate degree in law. He also completed the Advanced Management Program at the Harvard Business School.

Meera H. Sanyal

Meera H. SanyalMeera Sanyal started her career in 1984 with Grindlays Bank PLC (now a part of the Standard Chartered Group). In 1987, she joined Lazard as Head of International Finance & Advisory Services.

Sanyal joined ABN AMRO in 1992 as Head of Structured Finance, responsible for setting up the Corporate Finance & Project Finance business in India. In 1997, she took over as Head of Corporate Finance Advisory for Asia, based in Singapore, and handled several restructuring mandates following the 1997 Asian crisis. She assisted with the bank’s valuation and acquisition of Bank of Asia (Thailand) and Bank of America’s consumer operations in Taiwan, Singapore and India.

As the COO for India in 1999, Sanyal undertook the integration of Bank of America’s retail operations and also led the implementation of the core banking and Internet platforms for the consumer bank in India. She was responsible for setting up and establishing ACES - ABN AMRO’s global shared services BPO – in India in 2001 and was appointed its managing director. In January 2006, Sanyal became the Regional Head of Services for ABN AMRO Bank Asia, responsible for operations, information technology and corporate services for 16 Asian countries and ACES.

Meera is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Bankers, UK, and holds an MBA from INSEAD, Fontainebleau, France. She also completed an advanced management program at Harvard Business School. In addition to English and 3 major Indian languages, she is fluent in French and Russian and has studied German, Mandarin and Japanese.

Paul Warren Segal

Paul Warren Segal joined Teradata as a senior consultant within the professional services group in 2004. He has more than 10 years of experience in designing, developing and implementing data warehouses, as well as the design, development and implementation of advanced analytical systems utilising the vast volumes of data contained in enterprise data warehouses.

Segal’s key skills include facilitating data requirements sessions with business users; acting as a liaison between business and IT areas; data mining/statistical/mathematical modelling of large volumes of data; the identification, measurement, monitoring and correction of data quality issues; user training; and being the regional representative of the Teradata-SAS Centre of Excellence.

During his time with Teradata, Segal has undertaken many diverse analytical projects throughout the Southeast Asia region, including the development of BI reporting for a large telco; the implementation of an identity-theft detection system within a large telco; predictive modelling (including attrition, cross-sell/up-sell) for major banks and telcos; plan-o-gram analysis for retail; risk modelling for a key government department; and several large SAS optimisation projects.

Segal holds a Bachelor of Economics degree and a graduate diploma in pure statistics, both from the University of New England.

Pravir Vohra

Pravir Vohra is the Group CTO at ICICI Bank. In this role, he is responsible for the IT strategy and innovation, enterprise architecture, process automation and leveraging technology synergies across ICICI Bank and its group companies.

Vohra has been associated with the ICICI Group for about 8 years. His earlier assignments within the group included Head of the Retail Technology Group and Head of the Technology Management Group. He also oversaw the deployment of technology across ICICI Bank’s international operations.

Prior to his present appointment, Vohra worked with Times Bank in the capacity of vice president in charge of the corporate services group. He was responsible for spearheading the bank’s technology-enabled services to corporations in several areas, including cash management, supply chain management and merchant banking.

Vohra began his career in the banking industry at State Bank of India, where he worked for 23 years in information technology and international banking. He held various senior-level positions with the State Bank of India, both in India and abroad. His assignments included responsibility for the technology function for the bank’s branches in the US and Canada.

With a professional career that spans three decades in the industry, Vohra has immense experience and knowledge in IT architecture, domain expertise in financial products, process re-engineering, IT operations and strategy.

He is a certified associate of the Indian Institute of Bankers and holds a postgraduate degree in economics from St. Stephen’s College, University of Delhi.

Adil Zainulbhai
