Registration and fees
The conference fee is complimentary, but travel and hotel costs are the responsibility of individual attendees. SAS has secured a special block room rate at local hotels. Please see details below.The deadline for conference registration is the close of business on Friday, May 11.
Hotels and travel
Hotel and travel arrangements to Cary, NC, are the responsibility of individual conference guests. The Umstead Hotel and Spa and the Embassy Suites Hotel will serve as our host hotels for the conference. For your convenience, SAS has secured special room rates at both locations.

The Umstead Hotel is offering a conference rate of $285 for single or double occupancy. To obtain this special rate, please ask for the “Friends of SAS” discount when reserving your room.

The Embassy Suites is offering a conference rate of $154 for single or double occupancy. To obtain this special rate, please ask for the “Healthcare and Life Sciences” discount when reserving your room.
The Embassy Suites is less than half a mile from SAS.
Note: The deadline for booking a room at either hotel within the specially priced blocks is Wednesday, May 2. Book early as rooms may sell out prior to this deadline.
Transportation
The Umstead and Embassy Suites hotels both provide 24-hour shuttle service to and from Raleigh-Durham International Airport. However, for very early or late arrivals, we recommend that guests confirm shuttle arrangements directly with their hotel.Complimentary transportation will be provided to and from The Umstead and Embassy Suites hotels to all SAS-sponsored events throughout the conference. Luggage storage will be available at SAS for those wishing to check out of their hotel prior to airport departure. At the conclusion of the conference, a chartered bus will depart for Raleigh-Durham International Airport, arriving at approximately 5:30 p.m. (We suggest scheduling departures for after 6:30 p.m.) Shuttle transportation will also be provided for those opting to return to the conference hotels.
Meals
A conference welcome reception and dinner will be held at Prestonwood Country Club in Cary, NC, on Wednesday, May 16. This event provides an excellent opportunity for relaxed networking among SAS staff and conference guests.
On Thursday, May 17, a continental breakfast will be available upon arrival at SAS, and lunch will be provided at our award-winning café. Following the conference, we invite all participants to a closing reception.
Golf and wine tasting
*Golf Outing (Optional), Wednesday, May 16Join SAS executives and other conference guests for a day of golf at the prestigious Prestonwood Country Club. (Golf participants should plan for flights to arrive no later than 10:30 a.m. to meet 11:45 a.m. ground transportation at the conference hotels.) Course attire includes slacks/walking shorts, a collared shirt (no jeans or T-shirts please) and soft spikes only. A boxed lunch will be provided at the course. Changing facilities are also available at the club for freshening up prior to the conference welcome reception and dinner.
*Wine Tasting (Optional), Wednesday, May 16
If you are not a golfer, come be our guest for an afternoon of wine tasting at The Angus Barn: The Wine Cellar. Departure from the conference hotels will be at 12:30 p.m.; tasting will begin at 1:00 p.m.

Weather and conference attire
Cary, NC, can be warm in May with an average low of 65 degrees and a median high of 80 degrees. (See detailed weather information). Please note conference meeting rooms can be considerably cooler.
Suggested attire is business casual during hospitality and evening events and business professional during conference proceedings.
