The 9th annual Data Mining Technology Conference will be held at the Rio All-Suite Hotel in Las Vegas Nevada on October 23-24, 2006. M2006 is reserving a block of rooms at the Rio for the conference. You are responsible for calling the hotel to make your reservations. Rio All-Suite Hotel

SAS has secured a special room rate of $163/night, single or double occupancy. Each additional person in the room is $35. Children 6 and under are free. (Refer to S10BM46 code when making reservations.)

A limited number of government room rates are available at $112/night, single or double occupancy. To qualify for the government rate, you will be required to present appropriate identification upon check-in. (Refer to S10BM26 code when making reservations.)

Car rentals

Car rental companies are located in the center of the baggage claim area at the airport.

Taxi cabs

Taxi cabs are available outside on the east side of baggage claim, exits 1 through 5. Airport personnel are available on the taxi curb to assist you. Please keep in mind taxis will not accept credit card payments. A taxi ride will cost approximately $15 - $20 from the airport to the Rio hotel.

Shuttle/Limousine

Several shuttle and limousine services are located outside on the north and west sides of baggage claim, exits 8 through 14. Please note that there are both shuttles and for-hire stretch limousines. Below is a list of shuttles at the airport:

Weather

The Las Vegas climate is warm in October, with an average low of 60 degrees and average high of 85 degrees Fahrenheit. Be sure to bring a jacket or sweater as temperatures inside the meeting rooms can be considerably cooler.

Other items of note

  • Recording devices, including video and audio, are not permitted in conference sessions or training classes.
  • For security reasons, SAS does not allow access to the internet or to e-mail from classroom computers. The Internet Pavilion will be available throughout the conference for your personal use.
  • Attendees are not allowed to have children or guests accompany them in the conference or training.
  • Room temperatures do fluctuate. Please bring a light jacket or sweater to ensure your comfort level.
  • Conference attire is business casual

Smoking Policy

Smoking is prohibited in all conference and training rooms located in the Conference Center. Smoking areas are conveniently located throughout the hotel and casino areas and on the Miranda Patio.
