Course Description

This workshop provides hands-on experience of real-world text mining using the Text Miner node of SAS Enterprise Miner. You learn how to assemble inputs; explore, transform, and cluster data; perform predictive analysis; and prepare displays to highlight your findings.

Prerequisites

Before attending this workshop, you should be familiar with Microsoft Windows and Windows-based software. Previous experience with SAS Enterprise Miner is suggested.

Overview of Text Mining

• what text mining is (discovery)and is not (search or natural language processing)
• text mining success stories

Tutorial on SAS Text Miner

• overview of SAS Enterprise Miner diagrams, workspace components, projects, and analysis
• preparing historical data for input (converting to structured data)
• visual representation of results and interactive cluster diagrams

Predictive Modeling

• increase ROI by adding the Text Miner node to an existing SAS Enterprise Miner project
• measuring customer satisfaction using SAS Text Miner
• bundling as a stored process for decision guidance
