About the Presenters

Peter Turney, President and Chief Executive Officer, Cost Technology
Turney has been an entrepreneur and innovator in the field of business analytics for more than 20 years. His accomplishments span foundational work in activity-based costing to designing today’s integrative business analytic solutions. Formerly a faculty member at the Darden School of Business at the University of Virginia and Portland State University, Turney has also held positions at the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University, KPMG and General Motors. He has published numerous industry works on management, including the best-selling book Common Cents, a classic in the performance management field.  Turney has a bachelor’s degree from Bristol University, and a master’s degree and doctorate from the University of Minnesota. He is also a Certified Public Accountant (inactive) and a member of the Board of Advisors and Contributors of Cost Management.

Matt Mitchell, Cost Accounting Manager, Mutual Omaha Bank
Mitchell recently joined Mutual Omaha Bank. As Cost Accounting Manager he is responsible for activity-based costing and multidimensional profitability reporting. He has more than 20 years of experience in the financial services industry, including the design and implementation of cost and profitability systems on multiple software platforms. Mitchell has a Bachelor of Science in business administration from Franklin University in Columbus, OH.

Jonathan Hornby, Director, Worldwide Product Marketing – Performance Management, SAS
Hornby is a visionary and thought leader in the field of performance management. He currently leads global marketing direction and has been involved with both the strategy and product management of SAS solutions in this space. Hornby led the design and introduction of SAS® Strategic Performance Management, and was responsible for the acquisition of ABC Technologies in 2002, which has helped SAS improve its profitability analysis capabilities. Between 2005 and 2007, he led both strategy and product management of SAS' risk solutions, gaining a deeper understanding of how behavior, culture and communication influence strategic outcomes. Joining SAS in 1996, Hornby brought 15 years of business experience from the banking sector, which included activity-based management, process reengineering, performance analysis and marketing.
