SAS Education Instructor Kari Richardson has master's degrees in mathematics and statistics, a master’s degree in business administration with an accounting concentration, and a bachelor's degree in mathematics with a computer programming minor. Richardson, who teaches all of the SAS® Intelligence Platform applications courses, is also a seasoned instructor; she has taught SAS courses for more than 12 years and has been using SAS since 1982.
Eric Rossland, Technical Training Specialist in the Dallas Regional Office, has a bachelor's degree in computer science from the University of Minnesota. He began using SAS software in 1987 and has worked with many SAS products on various platforms in the retail and banking industries. Rossland began providing technical services and training for SAS in 1998. He is a SAS Certified Professional V6, Professional V8 and Professional Application Development V6.
Mark Stranieri, Regional Education Director in the Rockville Regional Office, has a bachelor's degree in forestry from North Carolina State University. He has used SAS software since 1986. He began teaching in 1991 and joined SAS as an instructor in 1991.
Bill Powers, Western Region Education Director in the San Francisco Regional Office, has a bachelor's degree in mathematics from the University of Richmond and master’s and doctoral degrees in statistics from the University of Connecticut. Formerly a professor at the University of North Carolina Greensboro, Powers joined SAS in 1985. He has used SAS software since 1976 and holds an Advanced SAS Professional V9 certification. Powers is a SAS Certified Professional V6, Professional V8 and Professional Application Development V6.
Robert M. Lucas is the Director of Statistical Training and Technical Services at SAS. Lucas has a doctoral degree in statistics from Colorado State University and more than 27 years' experience as an applied statistician. Prior to joining the SAS team, Lucas worked for 17 years at Research Triangle Institute, applying statistical techniques to collect and analyze data for a broad range of scientific and business problems. During his time at SAS, Lucas has developed and taught advanced statistics, time series, data mining and mathematical optimization classes. He has also provided customized training or consulting for government and many industries, including pharmaceutical, banking, manufacturing and retail.
Terry Woodfield is a Statistical Services Specialist in the Education Division of SAS and served as co-chair for M2003, SAS' sixth annual data mining conference. Woodfield has more than 28 years of SAS programming experience and has provided training mentoring services in the areas of statistical forecasting, predictive modeling and data mining. At SAS, Woodfield has developed courses in statistical forecasting, Web mining and text mining. He is also active in the statistics profession, presenting papers at numerous statistical conferences and professional meetings. Woodfield has helped develop forecasting and predictive modeling solutions for insurance and energy and retail companies, and he has been an expert witness in utility rate-making hearings. Before joining SAS, Woodfield was the Chief Statistician at HNC Software. Other prior experience includes statistical software development in SAS/ETS® Research and Development and university teaching and research.
