SAS VP honored: Computerworld 2014 Premier 100 IT Leader

Berni Mobley recognized for innovative use of technology to manage IT strategic initiatives

Berni Mobley, Vice President of Information Technology at business analytics leader SAS, has been recognized by Computerworld as one of the business world's Premier 100 IT Leaders.

The Premier 100 IT Leaders award recognizes individuals who creatively apply technology to execute business strategy. These exceptional technology leaders foster creative work environments, envision innovative technology approaches to business problems, and effectively manage IT strategies. Mobley will accept the award March 2 at the Computerworld Premier 100 IT Leaders Conference in Tucson, AZ.

“This award would not have been possible without the highly skilled IT staff at SAS who make my job easier and also to the business users at SAS who place their trust in me and IT,” said Mobley.

Mobley was selected from more than 1,000 nominees as one who most closely matched Computerworld's Leadership Index. Other winners include IT executives from Dell, Coca-Cola, NetApp, Proctor & Gamble and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

“The Premier 100 awards program, now in its 15th year, shines a well-deserved spotlight on a group of talented, creative and hard-working men and women. These IT executives are driving technology innovation in business, education and government across the country and around the world,” said Scot Finnie, editor-in-chief of Computerworld. “Technology advances quickly, and these leaders excel at keeping pace with the changing needs of customers and employees, and making fast technology decisions that map to their organizations’ top priorities. They have developed a deep bench of talented IT staffers at their organizations and managed to keep their own skills fresh by constantly mastering new technologies and processes. We are privileged to recognize the leadership and achievements of the 2014 Premier 100 honorees.”

Mobley joined SAS 11 years ago to oversee developing, delivering and supporting SAS core business systems, an enterprise data warehouse and business intelligence. She led the globalization and consolidation of core business systems and data across SAS regional offices in Europe, Asia and the Americas before taking on her current position. As Information Technology Vice President for the Enterprise Solutions Division, Mobley guides more than 225 global employees, aligns IT strategies with business priorities, steers the global development and support of SAS’ internal enterprise and BI solutions, and manages the IT enterprise project portfolio.

She is accountable for the development and support of SAS’ internal and external websites, enterprise messaging and collaboration, employee desktop and mobile device deployment, as well as SAS IT budget, global software licensing and help desk support for SAS employees worldwide.

“With her technical savvy, business vision and collaborative nature, Berni motivates and inspires her team daily,” said Keith Collins, SAS Chief Information Officer. “All of SAS benefits greatly from her contributions. We are proud of the many accomplishments that earned her this recognition and know she will make even more innovative contributions to SAS in the future.”

About the Premier 100

The Premier 100 program was created in 2000 to spotlight individuals who have had a positive impact on their organizations through technology. These are individuals who manage internal IT organizations, mentor and motivate their IT teams and business colleagues, create a positive work environment, envision innovative solutions to business challenges, and effectively manage and execute IT strategies. Each year nominees are invited to complete a survey that addresses a number of topics, including their background and experience and their attitude toward risk and innovation. Using Computerworld’s IT Leader Index, which is a measurement of how closely an individual matches our definition of the IT Leader, we analyze the data. Each year, 100 honorees are selected to receive this lifetime recognition award. Information on previous honorees can be viewed at: computerworld.com/s/article/9065479/Premier_100_IT_Leaders.
