How long have you been using SAS®?

42 years.

What SAS products have you used in the past? What products and solutions are you currently using?

Base SAS, SAS/STAT®, SAS/ACCESS®, SAS/ETS® and the SAS macro facility.

What is a problem you have solved using SAS?

I've used SAS to download patient data from the Division of Public Health's data system, HIS.

What is the most innovative way you have used SAS?

I used SAS to generate monthly reports with a homegrown, primitive RTF driver. These reports go to our care providers in almost every county in North Carolina. The RTF commands embedded in the output allow me to have some pages in landscape and some in portrait for each provider in the 1,200 page report.

What is your most memorable SAS moment?

I really don't have a most memorable SAS event. I have always found the software a very good and useful tool throughout my career.

How has SAS changed in the time you have been using it?

It has grown in complexity but has become more accessible through PCs as opposed to mainframes.

Have you ever attended a SAS users group meeting or SAS Global Forum? If yes, please list them.

No.

Has your work with SAS been influenced by any other members of the SAS community?

Just fellow workers on the job.

If you could point a new SAS user to one resource, what would it be?

An easily accessible guru at first.
