New appointment drives SAS® Cloud Analytics
Greg Scholten has been appointed as general manager, SAS® Solutions OnDemand for SAS Australia and New Zealand.
He will be responsible for delivering the strategy for SAS Cloud Analytics in Australia & New Zealand, meeting emerging market demands and providing customers with a range of options for the cloud-based deployment of SAS' leading predictive analytics solutions, including with the company's partners.
The SAS Solutions OnDemand suite has been delivering trusted solutions to customers for 14 years and securely managing Petabytes of data at more than 250 customer sites.
SAS Cloud Analytics offers a broad range of flexible delivery options for small and large organisations, from enterprise hosting in public and private cloud environments through to Software as a Service (SaaS) applications. This capability also includes a local data centre presence, meeting the security and privacy needs of Australian and New Zealand organisations.
Announcing the appointment, SAS Australia and New Zealand managing director, David Bowie, said “Cloud is now fundamental to customer expectations of a simpler, faster and more flexible model. The economies of scale benefits are passed on to customers through simplified infrastructure and reduced upfront capital investment and ongoing operating costs. Greg’s proven leadership in this space will drive forward the cloud agenda.”
Based in Sydney, Scholten reports to Lynette Clunies-Ross, chief operating officer of SAS Australia and New Zealand.
Greg Scholten has held senior IT sales and marketing positions for more than 20 years in both Australia and the US. His recent experience includes three years as the CEO of Longreach Software Inc. in San Francisco. He has also served as northern regional manager for NetApp Australia and Australia country manager for Firescope Inc.
