2015 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Advanced Analytics Platforms

Doing what we do best

The 2015 Gartner Magic Quadrant report evaluated 16 leading providers of advanced analytics platforms. These full-suite providers use sophisticated quantitative methods such as statistical analysis, predictive data mining, forecasting, simulation and optimization to discover insights that may not surface with traditional BI query and reporting.

While this market of more than $1 billion is showing a pace of innovation that is challenging for some competitors, SAS continues to do what we believe we’ve always done best. For nearly four decades, we’ve been at the forefront of analytics innovation.

Positioned in the Gartner’s Leaders quadrant, we believe SAS provides the most extensive product stack available. “SAS has the widest advanced analytics portfolio in the industry, offering a spectrum of capabilities. Many of them are designed for specific personas such as forecasting and text mining,” said CMO Jim Davis.

Our 40,000-plus customer base and growing community of users and partners is dedicated to making better decisions through advanced analytics, with SAS often the provider of choice in banking, insurance, business services and government sectors.

In today's market, much analysis is predictive in nature, although descriptive analysis is often needed as well, especially for data exploration. While these analytical capabilities remain important, additional analytic techniques such as forecasting, optimization and simulation will grow in importance.
