Carolinas Forum names SAS 'Supplier Diversity Corporation of the Year'Award recognizes CSD’s supplier diversity program SAS has been named the "Supplier Diversity Corporation of the Year" for 2005 by the Carolinas Forum, the designated chapter for Women's Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC) members in North Carolina and South Carolina. SAS received the regional award because of the company's support of and dedication to women's business enterprises. "The Corporate Services Division (CSD) is proud to accept this award on behalf SAS," said Vice President of Corporate Services Trish Dowty. "SAS customers represent a wide range of industries, people and locations, and we want this same diversity reflected in our supplier community. Our goal is to continually increase awareness and business opportunities related to SAS' spend with diverse suppliers."Annette Stevenson manages the supplier diversity program within CSD's Strategic Sourcing and Procurement department. "Our program works to help SAS meet its contractual obligations with respect to supplier diversity," said Stevenson, who also serves on committees for the regional chapters of both the WBENC and the National Minority Supplier Development Council (NMSDC). "We also work actively throughout the year to educate minority and women-owned businesses on how to 'get their foot in the door' as a corporate supplier, and we assist them with procurement opportunities at SAS," added Stevenson. See the SAS Supplier Procurement Guide (PDF: 138KB) for more details on our program.
