Primary Care
Your primary care provider should be your first contact with the health care system for:
- Health maintenance (physical exams, immunizations, health education, etc.)
- Management of chronic illnesses or conditions (asthma, diabetes, hypertension, obesity, etc.)
By taking care of you when you are sick and well, a primary care provider will become familiar with all aspects of your health and can provide valuable assistance in your efforts to maintain a healthy lifestyle and prevent disease and disability. When a condition or illness requires referral to a specialist, your primary care provider can coordinate your routine health care needs with the treatment and/or therapies prescribed by the specialist, keeping your health care needs as a whole in mind.
All SAS employees and family members covered by a SAS health insurance plan are eligible for enrollment as a health care center primary care patient. Primary care enrollment is offered at regular intervals.
