Breastfeeding Services

The SAS Health Care Center staff is committed to providing breastfeeding support to SAS employees and their families. The following services are available:

Lactation Educators
Several Health Care Center staff members are trained lactation educators.

Breastfeeding Classes
A four-part breastfeeding series is offered annually at the Health Care Center in Cary, NC. Videotapes of these classes are also available for employees to borrow.

Nursing Buddies
Experienced nursing mothers know how important it is to have support. Several SAS moms have volunteered to be a support person to new and inexperienced breastfeeding mothers. Nursing Buddy profiles and contact information are available from the Health Care Center.

Nursing Mothers' Listserv
This is an opportunity for individuals interested and involved in breastfeeding to share ideas and ask questions. To subscribe to the listserv, send an e-mail message to sas_hcc@sas.com.

Discounts on Pumps and Supplies
High-quality pumps and supplies are available through the Health Care Center at a significant discount to employees. Payment for these items is handled by payroll deduction only, so the SAS employee must submit the request form.

Nutrition Support
Our nutritionists can assist expectant or new mothers with dietary counseling to ensure they are getting the right nutrients, offer sound approaches to weight control, and address other dietary needs.
