SAS offers an excellent opportunity to purchase affordable group term life insurance with premiums paid in full by the employee through payroll deduction.
Voluntary term life insurance is offered in addition to the basic life coverage provided by SAS. Spouses and domestic partners of full-time employees can elect coverage under the voluntary life program even if the employee does not participate. Child coverage requires employee or spouse/domestic partner to participate. The program offers:
- Favorable group rates for employees and spouses/domestic partners.
- Portability: Employees, spouses and domestic partners can continue coverage at the same group rates even if the employee leaves the company or is no longer eligible to participate.
- Guaranteed acceptance up to pre-determined limits for active employees and spouses/domestic partners when employees enroll during their initial eligibility period; enrolling at any other time requires medical underwriting.
